The town of Pomorie lies at a small peninsula in the South-Eastern Bulgarian coast, in close proximity to the salt lake. The unique combination between the sea, lake and nature allows the formation of the unique curative mud, well known in Bulgaria for it’s action against many diseases. The “Thracians” first discovered this place and founded their sanctuary in 4th century B.C. In the centuries, the town was conquered and ruled by the Ancient Greeks and the Roman Empire. They called it “Anhialo” and it became an important centre of the salt trade between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean. Nowadays the town is one of the best tourist destinations in Bulgaria, located at the half way between Sunny Beach Resort and the city of Bourgas, just 12 km. away from the airport. In Pomorie you can find a salt museum, the only one in East Europe, the splendid St. George monastery and the beautiful old town houses from wood and stone on a narrow cobbled streets.    The population of Pomorie today is 15 000 inhabitants.
